Project subpage

The main goal  of our project was the energy efficient modernization of Hotel Palatinus in Sopron. One of the major challenges of the project was to use of environmentally friendly technologies and protect the environment by reducing the emission of pollutants into the atmosphere.

With the support of Green Industry Innovation Programme, we implemented green technologies. We replaced gas heating to electronic heating system, using renewable enerrgy by implementing roof based solar panels. Also we executed the insulation of facades and the replacement of windows to improve the energy efficiency of the building and prepare the premises for electic heating and hot water production. Our goal was that the heat demand in its entirety would be supplied by renewable energy and the CO2 emissions would be reduced 100%. To be able to install solar panels, we had to renew the roof. To reach our goal being a „green hotel” we installed LED light sources throughout the hotel. The effectivness of electricity, using renewable energy sources increased significantly. We installed an industrial heat pump tumble dryer with 3 kw solar battery, residual water and rainwater collecting tank, and pump regenerating into laundry system, which can make water reusable.

We have carried out the project with our Norwegian partner, International Development Norway AS,  whose significant project experience was used in project managment and communication.
